2018 Connolly Cup Nominees – Week 3

Maurice Robertson – West Seneca West

Robertson took over at QB for defending State Champions West Seneca West and went 10/17 passing for 254 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. He also pitched in 5 carries for 32 yards in the Indians’ 34-0 win over Frontier.

Maurice is the second QB from West Seneca West to be nominated for Connolly Cup this year (Liam Scheuer was nominated Week 1).

 

Danzo Young – Kenmore East

6’0″ 185 lb Danzo Young dominated the ground game for Kenmore East in their 38-21 victory over North Tonawanda on Friday. He torched the Lumberjacks for 247 yards and 4 TDs on just 14 carries

 

Alex Weakfall – Olean

Similar performance to Danzo Young; Weakfall turned in a 201 yard game of his own on the ground for Olean, scoring 3 rushing TDs along the way. Weakfall also had an 80-yard kickoff return for good measure.

 

Dylan Kelly – Williamsville North

Official statistics were not available for Dylan Kelly at press time.

 

Jason Mansell – Lancaster

Despite splitting time as one of Lancaster’s co-starting QBs, Mansell has had considerable impact within the team’s offense on a weekly basis. Week 3 saw him go 17/31 for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns in Lancaster’s victory over a Williamsville North team many had considered to be the new favorite in Class AA.

 

Connor Crabtree – Cassadaga/Falconer

QB Connor Crabtree proved himself as a viable dual threat QB this week after passing for 147 yards on 10 attempts and carrying the ball 10 times for 120 yards and 3 TDs. He also converted on two 2-point carries.

 

Nick Marsh – Randolph / Frewsburg

Official statistics were not available for Nick Marsh as of press time.

 

Carson Crist – Maple Grove

Carson Crist QB went 11/20 passing for 193 yards and 2 TDs.

 

Brandon Broadnax – O’Hara

Official statistics were not available for Brandon Broadnax as of press time.

 

Nick Cascia – Lockport

Nick Cascia went 13/21 passing for 246 yards and 2 TDs . He also had an 8-yard rush for a third TD on the afternoon.

 

Joe Stewart – Kenmore West

Stewart turned 15 carries into 113 yards and 2 TDs for the Blue Devils. He also hauled in 4 receptions for 114 yards and another TD.

 

Zac Boyes – Kenmore West

Boyes went 12/13 passing for 195 yards, 1 TD and an INT. He also pitched in 33 yards on 4 rushing attempts.

 

Joe Jamison – Canisius

Joe Jamison used his 9 carries to generate 100 yards and a TD for the Crusaders. He also had 2 receptions for 24 yards and a TD.

 

Bryce Pritchard – Albion

Pritchard went 8/10 for 191 yards, 2 TDs and an INT. He also turned 4 carries into 44 yards and 2 TDs.

 

Izaiah Rhim – Medina/Lyndonville/Barker

Rhim went 5 / 13 passing on the day for 115 yards and 3 TDs. His 10 carries resulted in 91 yards and another TD for Medina.
