The FC Buffalo 18U Academy team is 1-1 after two days of round robin play at the US Youth Soccer Regional I Championships in Spotsylvania, Virginia.
FC Buffalo started bright and early with an 8 a.m. match on Friday. They lost a 2-1 decision to Baltimore Celtic SC Christos, the No. 12 team in the country.
FC Buffalo gave up a goal in the 22′ and then one more in the 42′. Midfielder Jason Martin (Lancaster) scored their lone goal in the 57′.
A later start time proved to be better for FC Buffalo getting a come from behind 2-1 win over the Timberwolves SC on Saturday afternoon.
FC Buffalo gave up a goal 15′ into the game. Still, the NYS West State Cup champions continued to fight and just before the half ended midfielder Max Balko (Starpoint) put one in. In the 83′ forward Bryce Schiltz (East Aurora) scored the game winner.
The FC Buffalo 18U Academy team needs a win over Capital 99/00 Premier (VT) and a Baltimore Celtic SC Christos loss on Sunday to advance to the semifinals on Monday.
