Recapping Yesterday’s Games
Williamsville East 2, Amherst 1
The Flames improve to 7-3 overall with a 2-1 win over neighboring Amherst thanks to goals from Chelsea McNamara and Jenna Cavaleri.
Williamsville East is off until Monday when they travel to Lancaster (6-2-1). Amherst will play Friday at West Seneca West (4-4-2).
Sweet Home 8, West Seneca East 0
Sweet Home was led in scoring by Riley Kromer (3 goals) and Sophia Vadnais (2 goals). Emma Tinney earned her first shutout of the year in goal.
Both teams will be back in action on Friday: Sweet Home will host Lancaster (6-2-1) and West Seneca East will travel to Hamburg (1-6-1).

Maggie Kelkenberg grabbed her 2nd hat-trick of the season last night as she led the Clarence offense with 3 goals and an assist. Morgan Berndt (1 goal, 1 assist), Emma Muchow (1 goal, 1 assist), Alyssa Johnson (1 goal), Madison Leeper (1 goal, 1 assist), Ella Kelkenberg (1 goal), Kailee Godesiabois (1 goal, 1 assist), Elise Bearance (1 assist) and Regan Haberl (1 goal) also contributed for the Red Devils.
Clarence improves to 9-1 and will host Pioneer (8-2) on Friday. East Aurora will host Eden (4-4-1) next Monday.
Williamsville South 1, Lancaster 0
Kayla Gill scored the game-winner for Will South to help the Lady Billies improve to 8-2 overall. Will South is off until Monday when they host West Seneca West (4-4-2).
Lancaster is now 6-2-1 overall and will make a trip out to Sweet Home (3-6) tomorrow afternoon.
Iroquois 3, Williamsville North 2 – view photo gallery
Iroquois pulled off the upset to hand #1 ranked Williamsville North their first loss of the season.
Quinn Wierzbowski and Riley DeGrace both notched goals in regulation for Iroquois. The pair would later connect in overtime as DeGrace drove to the net and slipped the ball to Wierzbowski who found the back of the cage for her 2nd goal of the evening.
On the Will North side, Erin Roland finished with 1 goal, 1 assist. Jenna Piotrowski scored on a corner. Sam Mallare had 13 saves.
Even though Williamsville North drops to 2nd place in the ECIC league, they still sit atop the Class A Standings. The win maintains Iroquois’ standing atop Class B in a tight race with Pioneer and Will South.
Iroquois will be making a trip out to Orchard Park later this afternoon and look to extend their winning streak to +7.
Will North will host Starpoint on Friday and head over to neighboring Amherst on Saturday.
Orchard Park 2, Eden 1
After a 0-0 tie at half time, OP started the 2nd hallf with 2 quick goals. One of them on a corner. Goal scorers were Sami Detweiller and Jesse Peters. The goaltenders Adorno and Spyche shared the cage.
OP improves to 4-4-1 on the season and will host Iroquois later this afternoon.
Eden is now 4-4-1 on the year and will travel to Holland tomorrow afternoon.
Pioneer 7, West Seneca West 0
Morgan McAfee led the charge for Pioneer (8-2) with 3 goals and 2 assists in a 7-0 win over West Seneca West. Amber Reisdorf added 2 goals, Olivia Kempf and Alyssa Roblee (her first Varsity goal) also scored for Pioneer.
The win maintains Pioneer’s second-place standing in Class B.
Hamburg 2, Starpoint 1
Hamburg grabbed their first win of the season thanks to goals from Maeve Robillard and Sydney Gordon. Nicole Park and Brigid McKeone were credited with the assists in Hamburg’s 2-1 win over Starpoint.
Hamburg will host West Seneca East on Friday, Starpoint will travel to Williamsville North tomorrow afternoon.
