Over the past few years, The Park School Boys Basketball team has become one of the area’s top programs – boasting alumni such as Milwaukee Bucks forward Jordan Nwora and Rice University’s Noah Hutchins.
Now the Pioneers will be getting the “Pro” treatment.
The Park School announced Thursday that its hiring local basketball trainer and Tonawanda High School basketball coach Rod Middleton as its new Boys Varsity Basketball coach.
Back in 2017, Middleton – along with new Lancaster Boys Basketball coach Tony Watson II – opened up Pro Training Basketball in Wheatfield, which works with local basketball players in the area. He also coaches AAU basketball.
Middleton leaves Tonawanda after leading the Warriors to an 8-13 record this past season.
Middleton and recently appointed athletic director Turner Battle played together at the University at Buffalo in the mid-2000s. After starting for three years with the Bulls, Middleton went on to play four years of professional basketball overseas.
