LANCASTER DOMINATES JAMESTOWN AT DIETHRICK PARK

Lancaster showed their offensive strengths and continued to build momentum following a 10-4 win over Will North. The Legends drove down to Russell E Diethrick Park to face the Jamestown Red and Green. The game was originally meant to be played at the Martin Road Complex behind Jefferson Middle School. Location did not matter to Lancaster.

Early on, they showed their offensive power with a 7-run first inning highlighted by a Matt King RBI double to right center and then a Majchrowicz RBI single. Jamestown starter, Junior Carter Rizzuto would only throw two-thirds of an inning, however, Jamestown defensively committed two errors. First, an error by the shortstop led to two runs, then a 2nd error the following at bat let Notaro reach base, also driving in two. Matt King was the offensive player of the game, he went 4-5 and had 5 RBIs.

“Matt King was awesome, doing what he has done for us this early in this season, really disciplined at the plate and selective on what pitch he wanted, getting that pitch and putting it in play” Lancaster Coach Mark Dalfanso tells WNYAthletics. Michael Falls gets the win for the Legends. “Falls was dominant, his stuff was just overpowering them today, really commanded the strike zone,”

Coach Mark Dalfanso said of his Senior Pitcher. Michael Falls pitched 4 innings, giving up two hits, striking out 8 of the first 9 batters he faced before a Dominic Weber two out single in the bottom of the fourth. For Jamestown, Karson Milne was the bright spot on the bump as he pitched 3 Innings striking out five batters. The Legends and Red and Green face each other again 4/24 in Lancaster. First Pitch is set for 5 pm.
