WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week presented by the SonShine Charitable Fund: Gabe Lundmark

Falconer junior Gabe Lundmark has been selected as the WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week presented by the SonShine Charitable Fund for the week of Wednesday, December 27th – Saturday, December 30th, 2023.

Lundmark went 9-1 at the two day Dick Vincent Duals, Dec. 27th and 28th at Letchworth HS to help the Golden Cougars to an 8-2 dual record at the event. Eight of Gabe’s nine wins at the Duals came by way of pin, crucial to dual meet success. Lundmark also earned a critical pin in Falconer’s two point victory over league rival Chautauqua Lake in Letchworth, helping the Golden Cougars to the top spot in the latest WNY Athletics wrestling small school dual team power ranking.

So far this season, Lundmark is a big piece of Coach Wilcox’s lineup carrying an 11-1 record in dual meets and a 20-6 overall record with only one forfeit received.

According to his coaches, Gabe is a straight A student-athlete and a leader in school who also has a strong work ethic in the wrestling room.

WNY Athletics is proud to partner with the SonShine Charitable Fund as our presenting organization for the WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week for the 2023-2024 season.

The mission of the SonShine Charitable Fund is to financially assist families who have experienced the death of a child by offering monetary grants to help with some portion of funeral costs. The Fund covers all eight counties of WNY and the four most north western counties of Pennsylvania.
