WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week: Sean Gordon

St. Francis freshman Sean Gordon has been selected as the WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week for the week of Tuesday, December 20th to Thursday, December 22nd, 2022.

Gordon went 2-0 this week in the Red Raiders’ duals against ranked teams on back to back nights. On Tuesday, Gordon earned a decision victory at 126-pounds to help the Raiders take down #9 Williamsville North/East on the road. On Wednesday, Gordon was a 6-1 decision winner against a returning sectional place winner in the Raider’s home loss to a strong #5 Pioneer team.

Sean is a defending Section VI Div. I 3rd place winner while an 8th grader at Hamburg. So far this season, Gordon is 14-5 overall and a big part of St. Francis’s 7-4 overall record and #7 large school dual ranking. Sean is an honor roll student at St. Francis HS. According to his coaches, Gordon is a hard worker and known as a pleasant individual to both the students at teachers at school.
