WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week: Zack Russell

Pioneer senior Zack Russell has been selected as the WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week Presented by G&G Fitness for the second week of the 2021 season (May 24th – May 29th).

After missing much of the last two wrestling seasons due to injury, Russell is off to an 8-0 start in the spring 2021 season. On Friday, May 28th, Russell defeated a returning sectional 3rd place finisher in the Panthers’ home dual with Lancaster. Then, on Saturday, Russell defeated two more defending Section VI place winners including a returning 3rd place finisher and a 5th place finisher to complete week two with a perfect 3-0 record heading into week three.
