The 2024-2025 Bowling Season has wrapped up and it is time to turn our attention to sectionals, League champs have been crowned and announced (Section VI Bowling League champions).

For as long as I can remember, sectionals for bowling have been bowled on two days, boys on one day and girls on the other and they alternate each year. This year, Section VI has announced a new format.

This format emulates the State format. Monday will be Girls Division 1 and Tuesday will be Girls Division 2. The Boys will be on Wednesday and Thursday. 3 on 3, each team will have 6 bowlers with their lowest scores dropped at the end.

The Pattern is the 42’ 2023 USBC Junior Gold Pattern. Scores on this pattern are to be at a medium to high pace. Sectionals will be held at AMF Airport Lanes on Genesee St in Cheektowaga.

Depew is the current favorite for Small School divisions, especially in the girl's division as they are the reigning NYSPHAA Bowling Champions. Large Schools can be a mix of Lancaster, West Seneca, Niagara Falls, and Kenmore for boys.

Girls Large School favorites, North Tonawanda, Niagara Falls, Frontier, Clarence and Lancaster.

Boys bowlers to look out for are Josh Coram of Grand Island, Joshua Zajac of West Seneca, Nicholas Grabowski from Lancaster, Thomas Blenski of Lancaster and William DeMartinis of Williamsville East.

Girls to keep on the radar are Madison Rondeau of Hinsdale, Madison Cimminelli of Frontier, Cailyn Willard of Kenmore, Sarah Zulick of Clarence, Emma Felton from Depew, and 8th grader Danica Horbett from Lancaster.
