Boys lacrosse results and highlights from Week Nine games played May 16th – May 17th.
Thursday, May 16th
Niagara Wheatfield 18 – Salamanca 12
The Falcons won their final regular season game of the year hosting the top seeded Class D team in the Section VI playoffs. Devin Napolean notched 4 scores and 2 assists to lead the Wheatfield scorers. Jordy Smith netted 5 goals and JoJo Hoover added 2 scores and 3 assists. JT Hamby won 22 of 31 faceoffs for the Falcons who impoved to 9-7 in the regular season. Amos Whitcomb led the Warriors in scoring with 5 goals and 3 assists. Whitcomb and team mate Keelan Seneca each went over the century mark for points this season, as Whitcomb finished the game at 104 points in 2019 and Seneca with 1o1. Jacob Rozler passed the century mark in net now with 103 saves on the season. The Warriors, who won their previous seven games, finish the season 11-2 overall with an 8-0 record in Class D.
Frontier 17 – North Tonawanda 3
The Falcons won the first game of the Section VI playoffs as the 8th seeded Class B team over the 9-seed Lumberjacks. It was senior night for the Falcons who also celebrated 20 years of Frontier Falcons lacrosse. Frontier will visit top seeded Hamburg in the sectional quarterfinal on Tuesday, May 21st. Depew 10 – Lewiston-Porter 7
The Wildcats redeemed two regular season losses to the Lancers for a win in the ‘pigtail’ game to kick off the Class C playoffs. Depew will visit top seeded East Aurora in the quarterfinals on Tuesday. Scoring results not submitted.
Friday, May 17th
Clarence 10 – Akron 9
The Red Devils earned their second straight marquee win and seem to be primed to make postseason noise. Braley Abrams led the Tigers with 3 goals while Millard Young led Akron in scoring with 2 goals and 2 assists. Kaleb Delaney and Ryan Yaeger each recorded a goal and 2 assists while Donovan Nephew added 2 scores. Clarence finishes the season 9-7 overall while Akron completes the regular season with an 11-5 overall record.
St. Francis 8 – Nichols 4
The Raiders and Vikings met in their final regular season league contest. Scoring results not submitted.
