Wilson senior Ben Wortkoetter has been selected as the WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week for the week of Wednesday, November 30th to Saturday, December 2nd, 2022.
Wortkoetter went 6-0 at the 50th Annual Joe Shifflet Sweet Home Duals, recording five pins in those six wins to help pace the #6 Lakemen to a 2nd place finish in the team standings with a 6-1 dual record. Also on Saturday, Wortkoetter interviewed for an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Wortkoetter is a captain on the wrestling team and a three-sport athlete with a 100 GPA.
According to his coaches, Ben leads by example and is the definition of hard work paying off on
the wrestling mat.
