Lewiston-Porter freshman Caden Barrientos has been selected as the WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week presented by G&G Fitness for the first week of the 2021 season (May 15th – May 22nd).
Barrientos went 2-0 in the opening week of Niagara/Orleans ‘super league’ duals winning close decision victories over talented wrestlers at 110-pounds. Then, the Lancer freshman went 4-0 with two pins against other top N/O talent, including a decision victory over a returning Division I sectional 3rd place finisher on Saturday at the Niagara County ‘Battle Royale’ at Newfane.
Barrientos is a defending Class B champion and Section VI Division II 5th place finisher.
