Cattaraugus-Little Valley junior Lizzie Hines has been selected as the outstanding female G&G Fitness WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week for the twelfth week of the 2019-2020 season (Monday, February 10th – Sunday, February 16th).
Hines went a perfect 5-0 at the 1st Annual NYSPHSAA Section V Girls Wrestling Invitational at Brockport State on the way to capturing 1st place in the 126-pound bracket. Lizzie earned a 4-2 decision win over East High School’s (V) Sage Williams and pinned all four other opponents on the way to the title in the 126-pound weight class.
According to her coaches, Hines has been wrestling since the age of six. She is a student-athlete for the Timberwolves who holds an honor roll GPA and is currently taking college level courses. Lizzie is highly regarded by the teachers and staff at Cattaraugus-Little Valley HS and finishes the 2019-2020 season with an over .500 record.
