Clymer senior Trent Burchanowski has been selected as the WNY Athletics Wrestler of the Week for the week of Saturday, February 4th – Sunday, February 5th.
Burchanowski captured the Class C/D 145-pound title on Saturday to help the Thunderbirds storm to the team title by over 150-points. Burchanowski went 3-0 on the day and earned bonus team points with a pin and a major decision leading up to the final.
Although he missed some time this season due to injury, according to his coaches, Trent has been diligent in taking the right actions to return to the mat. While on the mat, Burchanowski has been a difference maker for the Section VI champions this season. He is also a returning sectional finalist and state tournament qualifier.
Trent is a team captain and according to his coaches, is a quiet leader by example and maintains good grades in school.
